Our roll out nest boxes can be converted between rear and front roll out. This simply means that you will have the ability to switch the egg tray to the front or back at any time. The switching process is quick and easy and uses nothing more than a simple wrench.
Unlike other brands, the Best Nest Box is incredibly easy to assemble. All bolts are first hand tightened and then, after the box is fully put together, tightened with a wrench. No rivet gun is necessary. The pieces of the box are manufactured with precise laser-cut holes making the few pieces that do need assembling easy to line up and safely bolt together.
Our unique egg guard is angled in toward the laying area, which prevents the hens from damaging eggs. For added protection, our brown nest pad is set atop a 1”x1” galvanized wire mesh for improved air circulation. The removable nest pad is made of polyethylene resins in a grass-like configuration. These pads are easy to clean and do not provide a home for bacteria.
There is a back to every nest box we sell to give them the ultimate strength. This provides the option to use the box freestanding or on the wall of your coop or greenhouse. Eye rings are attached to the two top corners of the box and can be used to mount the box onto a wall. These features easily allow for the nest to be used in many different ways to suit the exact needs of the farmer and the chickens, which can change over time. Please note, for the roll away feature to work properly, the nest box should be both level and plumb.
Vinyl flaps on the front keep the interior darker and helps chickens feel more secure and hidden. Our nests do not have any dividers! This community style nest design eliminates hens from crowding each other out.
The roost bar lifts so the egg tray can be opened. The roost bar can also be used as an excluder to keep chickens out of the box at night. Simply raise the roost bar after all eggs are laid and lower the bar after the hens have roosted for the night. (Make sure your night time roost bars are mounted at a height higher than your nest box roost bar. This will ensure the chickens will roost on the right roost bars.)
